tabit is a Chrome extension that organizes your open browser tabs into groups. This policy explains what data tabit accesses and how it is used.
Data We Access
Tab information — tabit reads the titles and URLs of your open tabs to group them. This data is processed temporarily in memory and is never stored permanently or transmitted to any server operated by tabit.
API keys — If you choose to use AI-powered grouping, you provide an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), or Google (Gemini). This key is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.sync and is sent only to the AI provider you selected — never to any server operated by tabit.
Data We Do NOT Collect
tabit does not operate any servers or databases.
tabit does not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, tab contents, or personal information.
tabit does not use analytics, crash reporting, or any third-party tracking tools.
tabit does not share any data with third parties, except when your tab data is sent to the AI provider you explicitly configured.
AI Providers
If you configure an AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini), your tab titles and URLs are sent to that provider's API to generate group names. This is subject to that provider's own privacy policy:
